Lorrimore Counselling Service (LCS)
We are a self-referral service. Anyone living in Southwark can refer themselves for counselling to The Lorrimore by phoning 020-7703 7806 to make an appointment for an assessment. Your name will be placed on a waiting list.
Please note: At present, the waiting time for an assessment is 12 weeks.
What we offer: COUNSELLING - COGNITIVE BEHAVIOUR THERAPY- GROUP PSYCHOTHERAPY.
What to expect from us:
Initial Assessment - everyone who feels they would like to make use of our services is offered an initial assessment, which lasts 1.5 hours and costs £5. This allows time to talk through the issues you are facing and to decide which of our services might be right for you. We hope to be able to offer an assessment within 6 weeks of your contacting us. It might also be that you and the assessor decide that our services are not suitable, in which case we will help you find a more suitable service. After an assessment we can offer you one of the following:
- COUNSELLING - 24 once-weekly one-to-one sessions
- COGNITIVE BEHAVIOUR THERAPY - 10 once-weekly, one-to one sessions
- GROUP PSYCHOTHERAPY - open-ended once-weekly sessions within a group.
The cost of these sessions is based on income, starting at £3 for people who are unwaged receiving benefits.
